Hell Hath No Fury Like A Man Training His Poodle

I'm gonna be back on air tomorrow! Can't wait to be back in the studio 'cause a little birdy told me that no one picked up the RM 888 ang pow from Guru Gee today. I guess you'll just have to tune in to the Pagi Show tomorrow from 6am to 10am to find out what the words of wisdom are and wait for the cue to call and stand a chance to win RM 888 x 2!

Anyway, I came across a video on Facebook yesterday that really upset me. I love animals. Be it a cat or a dog, an orang utan or a walrus, I just love them all. I used to own a dog myself and macha, he was like a brother to me. It's true what they say about a dog being a man's best friend.

If you've been on Facebook sometime in the last 24 hours, I'm sure you would've noticed a viral video circling around the internet. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the video and dude, I regret watching it. it was probably one of the most upsetting thing I'ver ever watched. If you don't lmow what I'm talking about, here's the video.

P/S: The video might be a bit disturbing  for some.

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1688604428314

As you can see, the video is in Cantonese. I asked my PA to translate it for me and she said that the heartless guy wanted the poor poodle to stand upright on its hind legs. For 16 minutes non-stop, the guy in the video was seen kicking. slapping and throwing the puppy to the ground.

It has been only a mere 24 hours since this video was posted online by a lady and it has garnered attention from everyone. A Chinese press in Malaysia published a story about this incident while a newspaper in Hong Kong also published this story.

When I first watched this video, I thought it was fake. But as I kept watching, I realised that this is for real. Macha, I really have nothing much to say about this except that I hope the stupid and ignorant dude gets arrested. Animals have feelings too and how can we consider ourselves as civilised when a human being is seen torturing a poor, helpless pup with no sense of sympathy nor conscience?

I think it's about time we have better law enforcement in our country to stop animal abuse. In my opinion, if we want to achieve the status of a developed country by the year 2020, it's time for us to change our attitude and mentality as it speaks a lot about each and everyone of us.

So, tell me what do you think about this topic k. Btw, my PA said there's a group on FB who's actively hunting the guy and his girlfriend down. Apparently, they've managed to identify both the guy and the girl and have reported the case to SPCA.

From Nancy's To Leo's Concert.

Yoohoo! Happy Monday. Guess where am I right now? If you were listening to the radio this morning, I'm sure you would have realised that there was a sexy voice missing right? No, I'm not in Melaka. I was there for the weekend and I came back to KL on Sunday. And today, I'm away somewhere else. Ok la macha, I'll tell you now since it's a Monday. :)  I'm in Perak baby! And this is what I did this afternoon...

Yup, I was doing the whole white water rafting thinggie-majiggie at Perak and it was fun! We had to build our own raft from bamboo sticks and guess what? My team's raft was the only one that was stayed intact at the end of it all. Who's the talented and smart team leader? Since you asked dude, it was me. Anyway, more on that later when I'm back k?

Remember I told you about my lil trip to Melaka? I was there with Ben to host a charity event for the annual Leo's Shout Charity Concert and the theme of the night was "Michael Jackson. macha, no one told me about the theme 'cause if I knew, I would show up in blue shirt as well as red leather jacket and matching pants. I'd look hot yo. And Nancy is not a hot chick. It's a restaurant that serves the awesomest and tastiest Nyonya food. Aiyo, and Leo is not a dude. Leo is the a charity club for school students under the LION's Club. Got you there didn't I?

The charity concert is divided into four mini categories where contestants would battle it out to be the best in their respective categories. The four categories are; solo singers, solo dancers, group dancing and bands. Each winner received a trophy, certificate as well as cash prize from the organiser themselves, the Leo Club in Melaka.

This is truly an amazing event as not only do they provide a place for our young and upcoming talents, proceeds of the ticket sales from this event goes to three charity homes. A big clap for our young Leos please.

Here are a few snapshots for you to enjoy!

Ben and I before the start of the event

Here we are on stage. The energy from the crowd was awesome!

My PA has a huge crush on this drummer from the band S.O.A.R. She thinks he's hot.

If you're tired of scrolling down or waiting for the pictures to load, don't worry macha. I took two videos just for you.

I am very impressed with Dynamix's performance. I honestly think that they have what it takes to catapult Malaysia's dance scene to international standards. So, what did you do during the weekend? Were you in Melaka as well?

A Weekend With J.Lo and Chicken Rice Balls

Woohoo! It's Friday again. I'm so excited about this weekend cause I won't be in town. Ben and I will be heading south to host a charity event. Wanna know where we'll be this Saturday? Well, check it out below.

That's right macha. We're gonna be in Melaka, the land of chicken rice balls and also cendol. I'll keep you updated on the event soon. And in the meantime, let's talk about American Idol 2011.

I missed the episode yesterday (yes dude, I know it was aired for 4 hours), which means I have no idea how nice or mean Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were. Apparently, they were mild. And I mean, really mild. No, "that was terrible" or "you just killed my favourite song" from them at all. Dude, how could anyone watch 2 hours of these auditions and not have any drama at all? C'mon admit it. I know the reason you watch American Idol was just to hear Simon's nasty remarks. And here's a compilation of his worst remarks.

So, how great was American Idol last night? As usual, there were some great singers and also some not too gifted ones. It's still hilarious to watch the auditions but when the comments from the new judges aren't as nasty as Simon's, it tends to turn the show a bit boring. I'm just being honest dude. If you've missed out on last night's premiere like I did, no scat. Here's a short clip of what happened yesterday.

Travis Orlando. That's the person to watch out for according to my PA. She thinks that he has the drive and passion to succeed and the fact that he's cute got to her completely. I think he's alright. Not the most powerful voicel I've heard but with the right guidance, i think he will do well in Hollywood round. Plus, if Blake Lewis the beat boxer from Season 6 could make it through the Top 12, I think Travis would stand a pretty good chance.

So, how were the auditions last night? Do you think this year's American Idol would pull in as many viewers as the ones before?

Stealing A Magician From Your Doctor

I know this came a bit late but.. HAPPY THAIPUSAM! Still got one more hour what. :) Guess what? I was checking out my Facebook earlier today and I sa w a friend of mine raving about this website. So, not wanting to miss out on all the fun, I decided to check it out and the website was awesome! Macha, just check out the picture below.

Yup, you can check out the website here. Macha, this website is the bomb. I've been using my iPhone for a year now and somehow I realise that the autocorrect function is a little messed up. And if I typed too fast and accidentally sent the message without proof reading it first, I can guarantee you that my message will probably end up sounding something like this:

Sometimes, I just don't understand what Steve Jobs is thinking. The autocorrect recognises the word Hamhung instead of hanging out. How is that even possible dude? You don't have to google what a Hamhung is. I just did and you will probably laugh till you drop when you read this. Hamhung is North Korea's second largest city! Don't ask me how the word "hanging" can be automatically corrected to Hamhung.

Here's another good one. Imagine your mum sending you this text.

And if you've ever thought of typing "BMW", you might want to turn your autocorrect off...

And, here's one more for you before I leave. Enjoy ! And don't forget to tell me how the Autocorrect function on your phone has messed up your messages k?

Free Money!

You know how your parents always tell you that money doesn't fall from the sky or that they don't grow on trees? Well, that's true until today. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then read on.....

On the front page of one of local English newspaper, we see a picture of motorists parking their cars at the side of the road, and they were stooping to pick some shiny metal objects on the ground. Yup, you guessed right. They were picking up coins. RM 75,000 in coins, to be exact.

So, this is what happened. According to reports, a BMW driver crashed into the rear of a Toyota Hilux which was carrying the coins in a steel box in the rear section. And when the crash happened, the box obviously was flung out from the car due to the impact. Macha, one thing I don't understand is, why on earth would that driver place the box coins in the rear of his car. Isn't Hilux a pick-up truck? And, the rear section is open? I mean, dude, you can put in the passenger seat, under the driver's sear, at the back seat and the list goes on.

So, according to reports, the driver of the Hilux pleaded and pleaded to the public as they all stopped and came out to pick up the coins. Macha, as predicted, his pleas fell on deaf ears. I mean, dude, from how I see it, it's free money. Although they're just coins, but if you pick enough of them, you could've easily gotten RM 100 or more. I've always hoped there would a billionaire standing on a balcony giving out free cash (just like the ones we see in hip-hop videos) but this would do as well. My PA would've stopped her car in a heartbeat and start collecting those coins.

(Source: The Star)

And, this is where I'm torn apart. I know it's wrong to take things that don't belong to you but we're not talking about toilet paper or sausages strewn along the highway. This is money we're dealing with. I wouldn't stop my car to pick the coins up but at the same time, I know that I can't stop others from picking them up.

So, the question is this. What would you have done to prevent people from taking the money if you were the driver of the Hilux? I would've probably get my PA (and myself to pick up the coins) and put them back in the box. You know, like competing with the others.

Ben Getting A Sexy Dance From A Man

Chinese New Year is just around the corner! Have you shopped for your new clothes? If you happen to be in One Utama yesterday, I'm sure you would've saw me and the rest of the Pagi Show giving out fortune cookies which has the "vords of visdom" by the man from the mountains of California, Guru Gee himself.

We were at the One Utama's old wing from 3pm to 3.30pm and at 4pm, we gave out  those fortune cookies at the new wing. At first, the people were a bit shy to come up on stage take their fortune cookies but after a while, a long line started forming yo!

Here's a few pics for you to enjoy.

Yup, that's me, Ben the Skinny God of Prosperity and Nadia

As we were at the backstage area taking a short break, this nice man walked in and requested to meet Guru Gee. We told him that Guru Gee was not there adnd without any hesitation, the man told us to pass a gift to the Guru.

And, here's the man himself on stage with us.

Macha, you know how people always break the fortune cookie just for the piece of paper inside? Well, let me tell you one thing. I was eating the cookie and giving away the paper inside 'cause the cookie was the bomb! Don't believe me? Look at the picture below.

This is the kid's SECOND cookie. It was that awesome.

Here's a couple of videos for you to watch if you've missed out on all the action yesterday. Let me warn you, there's some disturbing stuff going on in one of those videos. And it has to do with Ben getting a sexy dance from a guy. Enjoy macha!

The New Words I Learnt Last Friday.

Happy weekend! Sunday's gonna come knocking on your door in about 15 minutes and before you know it, it's gonna be Monday all over again. But, don't worry macha. I'm gonna try my best to keep you entertained k? :)

So, what were you doing last Friday? Did you catch any new movies or were you out on partying the night away with your friends? Whatever it is you did, I hope you enjoyed it. As for me, I was in Berjaya Times Square to host the Gatsby Styling Dance Contest 2010/ 2011, Malaysia Finals. And if you thought that it was just another dance contest, you are wrong! Not only did I manage to see some great performances, I also managed to learn a few new words.

Yup, that's me trying to memorise my script. I know you can't wait to find out what those words are. And, I'm going to tell you in a bit k?

As I mentioned earlier, I was at the Gatsby Styling Dance Contest that day and man, the dancers were all so talented. Here's a look at the 11 finalists.

If you weren't there on that day to catch all the action live, no scat! As always dude, I got it all recorded and uploaded. Here's a couple of videos of the top six finalists battling it out to represent Malaysia in the ASIA Finals in Tokyo, Japan next February.

There was also a special performance by last year's winner who not only won the Malaysia Final but also the ASIA champion, Alex Poppin Rex. Check out the video below to find out why he won!

And after 2 hours of non-stop dancing macha, the results were handed to me at 5pm. When I turned around, I could see all the top 6 finalists getting nervous. And here are the results:

What Went Wrong Here?

Dude, a couple of days ago, the nation was swept with surprise as the headlines from a local English newspaper read "Tourist Dies In Dog Attack". It was a sad day for everyone as these two dogs that attacked him were described as shy and the owner of the dogs had no idea why they suddenly turned against man. It was truly heartbreaking to know that Maurice Sullivan's ears were bitten off and his chin almost torn off. He also suffered multiple body bites, especially on the limbs, head and neck. Until now, I still couldn't believe that this incident happened macha.

One of the dogs that attacked the Irishman.

No matter what breed of dog a person owns, dogs are known to enjoy learning new things throughout it's life, is intelligent, possess great ability to remember things as well as being very aware and has a strong sense of guarding. So dude, here's what we need to find out. What went so wrong that the two mongrels, whom had earlier played with Maurice, decided to attack him?

The dog being sent away for observation.

Here's a what I managed to gather from the net. Fear and self-defense plays a huge part in dog attacks. Like humans, dogs react when fearful, and may feel driven to attack out of self defense, even when not in fact being "attacked". Speed of movement, noises, objects or specific gestures such as raising an arm or standing up may cause a reaction. A dog may also perceive a hand reached out toward its head as an attempt to gain control of the dog's neck via the collar, which if done to a wary dog by a stranger can easily provoke a bite.

In short, I guess, this unfortunate tragedy is no one's fault. The dogs probably felt threatened hence resulting in the attack. the sad thing is, a life was lost. Let's all pray and hope that this ugly incident will never happen again.
