On an early Sunday morning, he looked up to the sky and thought, " Today's gonna be legendary." Today's the day of his first orientation with Tengku Djan Ley a.k.a. Prince of Drift/ Tandem Assassin. Yes, you heard right. Phat Fabes (which is me. Don't know why I'm writing as a narrator, but I sound so cool now) is going to pursue that one passion of his that never died... drifting.

A drift car being driven in to the circuit by a truck, yo.

Mervyn Nakamura's car parked right in the middle of the track.
The orientation began with the basics of drifting and safety precautions. Anything and everything from the position of the seat to how to get the car started were taught during the classroom session. Aftter that briefing, two beautiful girls brought me downstairs to meet with two of the trainers (Mervyn Makamura and Ivan Lau) to unveil the new car that I'll be using throughout my training sessions and macha, my car is the awesome-st one ever.
Tengku Djan explaining to me what's oversteer and understeer.
You're now looking at the car I'll be taking my drift lessons in. Excited yet?

Wait for it....

Feast your eyes!

Look at my name on it. Oh, I forgot to mention that I'll be sharing the car with Prem.
I was also presented with a really cool helmet that was sponsored by SOL Racing.

Mervyn Nakamura teaching me on how to adjust my seatto the right position.
Ok. Here's the catch. I would be given free drift lessons by the best trainers in Malaysia under one condition. After my training stinct, I have to compete in an amateur drift competition and one of the "drifters" that I'm up against is... Prem. Although, I'm pretty sure I have a pretty good head start 'cause guess who didn't show up for orientation today? Prem. Guess who missed out on the most important lesson in drifting? Prem! Hahaha. And since Prem's not here today, I thought I'd take some pics to show him the good time he missed out on.

Me and some hot women on a hot day.
Tengku Djan and IAnyway, here's two videos for you to enjoy on my first "drifting" experience.
P/S: The answer to the title above is.... NO!! I was just enjoying my first taxi ride from one of the top drifters in Malaysia, Tan Tat Wei a.k.a. Wah- Lau- WEI.
